Mobile network operators sometimes have the need, within a well-defined and limited time, to guarantee communications services to their users in areas where they normally or occasionally do not exist.
As an example, we can name the excessive occupation of beaches, music festivals or emergency situations, where quick and special coverage is necessary for operators and for emergency teams.
The HappyBird project brings together the know-how and experience of VIATEL and JSC in the development of “Cell-On-Wheels” and Transportable solutions, to respond to most special needs in radio coverage.
This project seeks to avoid overly customized and case-by-case developments, a recurring situation in developing this type of solutions, thus seeking to offer standards solutions to the market with more favourable prices and delivery times.
This first HAappyBird model, called Birdie, is a model created from a 4x4 pickup vehicle, equipped with a telescopic mast that can be raised up to 12m in height and several telecommunication and energy infrastructures necessary for its fast and efficient operations. It is a robust solution which was designed to be easily operated by a single technician.
The HappyBird project has already designed new models with different characteristics and applications, which will be presented in 2022.
